Shayna & Sam

Spring 2025 | Thicket Priory

Shayna & Sam chose the magnificent Thicket Priory to hold their international celebrations. With guests coming from both the UK and Canada it was a really special day! Watch their full wedding film and read all about their day below.

We love Thicket Priory with it's impressive façade and impossibly cosy interior! It's a grade II listed beauty nestled in the Yorkshire countryside with a rich history. The perfect setting for guests from Cananda and the ones from home soil alike. Everyone who walks in never wants to leave. We find it very difficult to pry ourselves away from the place!

There is so much to explore within the building itself and the beautiful grounds. Guests can discover a secret staircase behind a bookshelf, original servant bells complete with the names of the rooms, pantries very well stocked with teas, coffee and all the good biscuits, hidden fairy doors, a private lake . . . we could go on for a while! There are so many things to seek out that every time we go we discover something else.

It's the perfect fairytale setting that hits all the right notes and makes you feel like you belong there. Shayna & Sam choose to add Super8 onto their package Thicket priory certainly is an amazing place to use it! The spring light was perfect which we took full advantage of in this story book setting.

On the morning of the big day itself Shayna was the happiest bride, calming any nerves that she might have had by knitting! What a wholesome scene it made. We loved this whole look: the texture of the tulle  sleeves of the gorgeous robe that Shayna had on combined with the fluffy yarn that she was knitting with. Who knew that knitting on your wedding morning could bring so much joy and calm to the room?

It was soon time to get ready. Sam and his groomsmen had a great morning getting ready for the day's celebrations in the Mervyn Suite, before heading down to the bar to put their buttonholes on. All sorted in time to greet guests.

Back up in the Buckingham Suite, Shayna had a choice of veils. We think that she 100% chose the right one! We LOVED her blusher veil, it completed her bridal outfit perfectly! A blusher veil is the type where a section of it covers the face. It makes for the most ethereal and romantic look that we adore. More blusher veils please!

During the ceremony we heard some gorgeous personal vows, we don't think that there was a dry eye in the house.

The glorious spring light we were having shone beautifully on the tables set for dinner, with the long stemmed white roses, the grapes and black ribbons. Together the tables looked abundant, elegant and perfect for the feast that was going to be eaten. This was finished off by copious amounts of candles! We couldn't stop filming the tables! They looked particularly classic and timeless filmed with our Super8 camera too.

In the late afternoon we had some more of that spring light we'd been obsessing with all day, so we snook off with the happy couple to the front of the building to catch the very last of it. Shayna switched up her outfit with a fun, short veil and a neck scarf. It was a perfect time for the two of them to take a breather, just be in each other's company and enjoy that just married feeling together before going back to their guests to party the night away.

I can’t stop looking at this Super8 shot of the tables looking slightly disheveled, but still effortlessly elegant with the candle light, dreamy!

I loved the light that we got later on when we went out the front of the building, it doesn’t always happen at the right time, but for Shayna & Sam it did!
